Shifting forms and embracing the beauty of imperfections.
For the last few years, I've dealt with injuries that have affected my ability to play live instruments. In reaction to that, I spent every month of last year meticulously crafting the tracks that would become Music For Imagined Landscapes in the DAW. I'm incredibly proud of what that album became, but the workflow was exhausting, and I was craving creative time away from the screen and using more live instruments. As I've slowly been able to play my main instruments again, I worked to create a new workflow that would allow me to utilize these performances by sampling quick ideas into samplers like the Elektron Digitakt and Roland SP404. From there, I could manipulate and mangle these ideas into ghostly fragments that I could embellish with additional synths and drums.
Chromaprism consists of two tracks using this new workflow. Side A brings a retrowave vibe, traveling neon-soaked city streets in a cyberpunk futurescape. Side B is an ambient meditation, reflecting on the here and now.

Originally Composed on Dawless Gear (Elektron Digitakt & SP404 MK2)
I moved the idea into the DAW and refined it with additional MIDI and ear candy, from there a simple yet effective Mastering chain brought it all together
